About the Artist
Tim Shelep was a painter, art director, and innkeeper working in Illinois and Maine from the late 1970s until 2006. Shelep graduated from Miami University and led a successful career at the Leo Burnett agency in Chicago where he created ads for clients such as Maytag, Huffy Bicycles, United Airlines, and Kellog. In 2001, he moved to Greenville, Maine to open the Pleasant Street Inn and pursue his art. While living in Maine, Shelep drew inspiration from the natural landscape around him while his earlier works depict cityscapes of Chicago, New York, San Francisco and other urban areas.
